Bifurcation of tendon of peroneus brevis in human cadavers: case study.
(c) An endto-side transfer of the peroneus longus tendon to the peroneus brevis tendon was performed.
The aponeurotic septum, was excised separating the lateral and posterior compartments, and the freed peroneus brevis was now delivered into the first incision.
The use of peroneus brevis tendon with preservation of its blood supply can augment the repair and reduce the risk of the rerupture.

The peroneus brevis tendon is split and transferred through the fibula and into the calcaneus, thus providing a more anatomic reconstruction.
Tuberosity avulsion fractures are proximal fifth metatarsal styloid fractures resulting from a forceful pull of the lateral band of the long plantar ligament or the peroneus brevis tendon during ankle inversion.
The MR imaging appearance of longitudinal split tears of the peroneus brevis tendon.
METHODS: From march 2010 to march 2013, 20 patients undergone distally based Peroneus brevis muscle flap for the distal leg defects.
The peroneal tendons share a common tendon sheath proximal to the distal tip of the fibula with the peroneus brevis medial and anterior to the peroneus longus.
(26,27) Evertors that help plantar flex the ankle are peroneus brevis and peroneus longus.
The repair can be further reinforced with a portion of the peroneus brevis tendon in higher demand patients (i.e., overweight patients), patients with soft tissue laxity, or those involved in strenuous work or athletic activity.
